Vision Nottingham, the city’s Inward Investment team, is hoping to
woo Ofsted employees to Nottingham as part of the Government’s drive to disperse public sector jobs
around the country.
The Team will be at Ofsted’s London Headquarters
this week to explain to staff affected by a departmental restructure why they should relocate to Nottingham.
During
the information day, Nottingham City Council’s Director for Sustainable Development Simon Green will
give presentations on the Nottingham offer and will encourage staff members and their families to relocate
in Nottingham.
Deputy Leader of Nottingham City Council, Councillor
Graham Chapman said:
“The City’s central location and
excellent transport links to the rest of the UK gives Nottingham the winning edge.
“Residents
of Greater Nottingham can enjoy an excellent, cost-effective quality of life. Nottingham has a wide
range of top quality cultural, leisure and sporting activities, housing is competitively priced and
many local schools, colleges and universities have achieved outstanding results.”
There
are more than 98,000 public service jobs in Greater Nottingham, equivalent to nearly a third of all
local jobs. The Vision Nottingham team are proactive in their approach and continue to deliver an effective
business programme to help public sector organisations relocate whilst also offering ongoing support
to help those already based in the city.
