Nottingham Remembers 2008

On Tuesday 11 November, Nottingham City Council will be observing a two minute silence on Armistice Day at 11am.

On 11 November 1918 the Armistice was signed between the Allied and German armies, ending the First World War

To honour those killed in conflict the City will take part in the official two minutes silence at 11am, the anniversary of the end of First World War.

The chimes of the Council House clock will alert shoppers and retailers across the City to the 11 o’clock observation. Civics from Nottingham City Council will join members of the Royal British Legion to observe the official silence on the Council House forecourt. Buses around the Old Market Square will stop.
