The Brian Clough Statue is being unveiled in Nottingham on Thursday
6th November, 2008 at 1pm. Anyone walking through Nottingham today will see the statue in place, but
under cover until the big day!
Meanwhile, there is now an opportunity
for people to buy a replica of the stunning sculpture.
A limited edition of
1,000 replicas of the statue will be on sale to coincide with the eagerly-awaited event in the award-winning
Old Market Square.
The replicas, which will be six inches tall and on a slate
plinth, will be on sale for £100. Each and every one will have a numbered certificate.
The
Media Group is acting as agents to process and despatch all orders on behalf of the Statue Committee.
Keith
Daniell, of The Media Group, says: “Each replica is individually produced in England and we expect around
600 to be despatched by Christmas. All other orders will be sent out as soon as possible.
“The
sculptor, Les Johnson, is entitled to a 10% royalty fee on all proceeds and all profits from sales are
being donated to charity or charities selected by the Clough family. Information on donations will be
announced in the media early next year.
“No remuneration is being taken by
Nottingham City Council, Nottingham Forest FC, The Media Group or the Clough family.”
Numbers
1 to 10 are reserved for Mrs Barbara Clough. John McGovern, who captained Clough’s Forest sides to European
and domestic glories, will also receive one of the replicas.
