Nottingham City Council is resurfacing the Edwards Lane (C179) junction
with the Nottingham Ring Road (A6514) on Tuesday August 26 for three evenings.
Nottingham
City Council has been awarded funding to improve the A6514 Nottingham Ring Road between the A52, Derby
Road at the Queen’s Medical Centre Island, and the A60, Mansfield Road. As part of these improvements
it has been decided to resurface the carriageway at the junction where the Ring Road crosses Edwards
Lane.
The works include the removal of the old
worn surface, replacement of any damaged ironwork including manholes and gullies and laying a new tarmac
surface.
The Ring Road will be closed to traffic
between Mansfield Road (A60) and Hucknall Road (A611). Two way traffic flow will be maintained along
Edwards Lane (C179) in and out of the City and diversion routes will be via Hucknall Road, Arnold Road
and Oxclose Lane to the north or Mansfield Road, Edwards Lane, Perry Road and Hucknall Road to the south.
Work
will be restricted to evenings between 18:30 and 23:30 to reduce impact to traffic using the affected
routes.
Residents of the areas close to this section
of the Ring Road have been asked to make alternative arrangements for journeys to and from their property
as access from the Ring Road will not be available during our working hours. Suggested routes will be
via Perry Road to the south or Arnold Road and Oxclose Lane to the north.
Nottingham
City Council apologises for any inconvenience and reassures motorists that they will do all they can
to keep disruption to a minimum.
