Highways work to Ring Road
Nottingham City Council’s Highways Maintenance Team is undertaking works on the Nottingham
Ring Road as part of an overall £810,000 investment.
The work
will take place at the Roundabout where Aspley Lane crosses the Ring Road.
Work
carried out will consist of resurfacing the carriageway around the junction, removing the old worn surface,
replacing any damaged ironwork including manholes and gullies and laying a new tarmac surface.
Work
starts on Monday February 11 and will take one week. The work will be carried out during off peak evening
hours only, between 18.30 and 23.00pm to reduce impact on the traffic using the affected routes.
Geoff
Kidd, Highways Maintenance, Nottingham City Council, said: “To do this work in the shortest possible
time we will close the Aspley Lane entrances onto the island, which will enable us to keep two-way traffic
flow on the Ring Road itself. Traffic on the Ring Road will be reduced to one lane in either direction
using a contra-flow system to close one half of the island at any time. Motorists are advised to avoid
the area if possible, but alternative diversion routes will be signposted during the working hours.
Access to properties will be maintained at all times and we apologise for any inconvenience and would
reassure motorists that we will do all we can to keep disruption to a minimum.”
