Nottingham City Council wants views on the proposed Statement of Licensing
Policy for 2008-2011.
The Council’s review of policy statement, which
is a requirement of the Licensing Act, sets out how it intends to carry out its licensing duties in
order to meet the four objectives of the Act – preventing crime and disorder, promoting public safety,
preventing public nuisance and protecting children from harm.
The policy recognises
that the licensed leisure and entertainment industry is important to the social and economic life of
Nottingham, and seeks to establish sensible controls and appropriate guidance to help prevent and
deal with anti-social problems which can arise from licensed activities.
The
City Council has approved the proposed Statement of Licensing Policy for 2008-2011 and it is now available
for consultation.
The policy can be accessed by visiting the Nottingham City
Council website at www.nottinghamcity.gov.uk
The policy will continue to be reviewed from time-to-time to ensure that it
remains current. Views about the proposed policy should be given by October 12 2007 via
the feedback form available on the website or by writing to: The Licensing Officer, Nottingham City Council, Lawrence House, Talbot Street, Nottingham, NG1 5NT.
