Two drivers licensed by Nottingham City Council have been found guilty of illegally plying for hire.

The drivers were found guilty of picking up non pre booked passengers in a private hire vehicle which is against the conditions of their licence.

Rajvinder Singh of Wollaton was fined £1,500 and Jaspal Singh Landa of Old Basford was fined £1,000. Both men were ordered to pay £100 costs.

Jim Mortell, Team Leader in Taxi Licensing, said: “I am pleased with the outcome of these cases and hope it will deter others from acting illegally. We would urge customers, when in the city, to either hail a green London style Hackney Carriage or book a private hire vehicle from a licensed operator.”
