Success in Nottingham over illegal taxi drivers
Two drivers licensed by Nottingham City Council have been found guilty of illegally plying
for hire.
The drivers were found guilty of picking up non pre booked
passengers in a private hire vehicle which is against the conditions of their licence.
Rajvinder
Singh of Wollaton was fined £1,500 and Jaspal Singh Landa of Old Basford was fined £1,000. Both men
were ordered to pay £100 costs.
Jim Mortell, Team Leader in Taxi Licensing,
said: “I am pleased with the outcome of these cases and hope it will deter others from acting illegally.
We would urge customers, when in the city, to either hail a green London style Hackney Carriage or book
a private hire vehicle from a licensed operator.”
