A combination of a four year old dream and hard
work, spearheaded by the Friends of Bulwell Bogs, has come to completion with the
opening of the new Water Park at Bulwell Bogs.
The
Water Park, the first in Nottinghamshire, offers an exciting water world of play for the under 12's,
with an area allocated especially for toddlers.
The centre piece of the Water
Park is a Bulls head, specially designed for Bulwell, which sprays water out of its mouth. Other features
include sprays, geysers and fountains on a timed programme, producing alternating jets and power of
sprays.
As well as offering visual and touch stimulation, the Park offers sound
stimulation through 'sound sticks' - columns within the water park that produce sound when touched.
Nottingham
City Council has invested over £376,000 to replace the old paddling pool with state of the art facilities,
plus a new footpath to improve access and pedestrian safety, working closely with The Friends of Bulwell
Bogs to progress the project from initial concepts through to completion.
Graham
Chapman, Deputy Leader said: "This is a great new facility
for Bulwell, it’s just another one of the exciting things that’s happening to the area and will help
put Bulwell on the map."
