Nottingham Elders’ Forum is celebrating the International Day for
Older People in
Old Market Square on Monday 1 October.
This event brings together a number
of organisations, including the City Council, who provide care and services for the elders of Nottingham,
and will also demonstrate that getting old does not mean waiting for the inevitable.
In
addition to the stalls on the Market Square, there will be an exhibition in the foyer of the Council
House which will demonstrate the superb talents of the elderly of Nottingham. There will be many fine
examples of creative art, such as paintings, tapestry needlework, jewellery making, etc, which will
be of interest to all ages.
The Lord Mayor will be cutting the ribbon to open
the event at 10am in the Market Square. Open to the public from 10am to 4pm.
