To mark the final day of this year’s Big Spring
Clean campaign a massive clean up of Wollaton Park is being organised for Friday March 28.
Volunteers
from across the city are all invited to take part in the clean up and will be provided with litter pickers,
bags and gloves.
The event will start at 12.30pm with a brief introductory
talk about the park and its wildlife which will then be followed by a clean up of some of the habitats
worst affected by litter.
Volunteers are advised to meet at 12.30pm
in the Café Courtyard and the clean up will conclude with complementary tea and cakes in the Café from
3pm.
Free car parking can be arranged for volunteers. Any people wishing
to take part please register by return of email to bigspringclean@nottinghamcity.gov.uk
or by calling Lee-Anne Bone on 915 2063
Councillor Katrina Bull, Portfolio
Holder for Environmental and Climate Change, Nottingham City Council said: “Wollaton Park is an area
that has been highlighted as a hot spot as part of the Big Spring Clean. We have received a lot of interest from individuals, businesses and community groups to volunteer to
help clean an area so this is an ideal opportunity to get them all together and thank them for all their
hard work as well as making a difference to one of Nottingham’s most popular tourist attractions.”
