Nottingham City Council and Capital One are joining forces to help
clean up Silverdale and Clifton.
Volunteers from Capital One and the
City Council’s Street Scene team will come together on Tuesday November 4 to clean up the Silverdale
walkway and cycle path and Fairham Brook from 10am until 1pm.
Over
twenty volunteers from Capital One will clear the areas of litter and fly tipping to encourage more
people to make use of the cycle ways and green areas.
The clean up is also highlighting the work of the
new local Neighbourhood Environmental Action Teams, with nine new vehicles being introduced across the
city, to help deal with local grot spots.
Cllr Katrina
Bull, Portfolio Holder for Environment and Climate Change at Nottingham City Council, said: This area
was highlighted by local residents as needing some attention to encourage more people to enjoy the walk
ways and cycle ways. The volunteers will set about cleaning the area to hopefully push the local public to take an active
commitment towards looking after their local environment.
Residents
are advised to report local grot spots to the Streetscene hotline on 915 2000.
