Work starts this week on a new community centre
for Birchover Park
. Nottingham City Council and Birchover Community and Sports Association will begin the construction by digging out the first turf
at 12 noon at the Birchover Park Site on March 22.
Nottingham City Council
has earmarked £1.2million for the new 305 sq metre multi-purpose building in Birchover Park . Designed by Nottingham architects Marsh:Grochowski, its adaptable design will cater for a wide range of activities
such as arts and crafts, training events, meetings and play groups, after-school, youth and pensioners’
club It also includes kitchen and coffee bar area.
The
centre will provide new facilities following the closure of Old Park Farm Community Centre in 1999 and
Wollaton Grange Community Centre last year.
