City Council services open at Mary
Potter Centre
The next phase of The Mary Potter Centre in Hyson
Green has opened with Nottingham City Council and Nottingham City Homes services now available at the
centre on Gregory
Boulevard.
The move links all services under one
roof in an easily accessible building on the site of the former health centre and Acorn Day Centre. Primary Care services, including three GP practices - Fairfields, High Green and Forest Practice - with Nottingham City Primary Care Trust clinics and the Acorn Resource
Centre, opened there in 2007.
The final phase of
the joint service centre will include a quiet room and café. The building has been designed to be airy,
attractive and fully accessible to all the community and a splash of colour has been added by Nottingham
City Arts and Nottingham Development Company-run arts project to produce local artwork to exhibit in
and around the centre.
The official opening of the building will take place
in September.
Councillor Eunice Campbell, Nottingham
City Council’s Portfolio holder for Customer Services, said the City Council and Nottingham City Homes
move into centre was another milestone for the Mary Potter Centre.
“It
provides a state of the art base for residents to see different organisations together under one roof,
making everything much more convenient for individuals and increasing the efficiency and linked working
of the different agencies. We look forward to the centre being officially opened in September.”
The
centre is being built by Greater Nottingham LIFT company under a public private partnership which is
being developed by Greater Nottingham Local Improvement Finance Trust (LIFT) Company under a public
private partnership agreement will be completed next year.
