Nottingham City Council is holding its Annual Service for Bereaved
People at the Southern Cemetery and Crematorium, Wilford Hill in West Bridgford on Saturday December
6 at 10.30am.
The service is of special significance to those who wish
to remember a relative or loved one who is either buried in one of the City’s six cemeteries, or who
has been cremated at Wilford Hill Crematorium, but anyone wishing to attend will be very welcome.
The
service takes place in the Main Chapel, and will be conducted by Reverend Jim Neill, St Ann with Emmanuel
Church, St Ann’s, with choral accompaniment provided by the church choir. Light refreshments will be
served after the service.
Councillor Brian Grocock,
Chair of Cemeteries and Crematorium Services at Nottingham City Council, said: Christmas is a family
occasion – a time for love and caring. It is also a time when many reflect on the past and remember
loved ones no longer with them. This very special service at this time of year provides an opportunity
for people to have a little bit of quiet time to themselves or to share their thoughts and feelings
with others. I do hope that, as well as the many who have attended this annual service for some years
now, others will join us for the first time and draw comfort and support from the proceedings
Anyone
wishing to attend the Service for Bereaved People should contact the Southern (Wilford Hill) Cemetery
and Crematorium Office on 0115 915 2340.
