A dance show at Cardiff Millennium Stadium as part of the Millennium
Magic Rugby League weekend is looking for young people from Nottingham to take part.
Sixty
students are taking part in four days of rehearsals and workshops at Bilborough College this week that
could lead to performing in Move It 2008 pre-match entertainment showcase in May.
Two
auditions for the rehearsals have taken place and 25 pupils have been selected. The final audition is on Tuesday, March 25, at Bilborough College Sports Hall at 9.30am and is open
to any 11 to 16 year old pupils at a Nottingham City School, who can turn up to take part in the selections.
Nottingham City Council is
one of four local authorities to take part in the project that is for pupils aged 11 to 16 who are part
of the City Council’s Gifted and Talented education programme.
Those who get through the auditions will learn dance styles and routines and
the importance of warming-up. The workshops will include master-classes for particularly-talented pupils
who could be considered for solo or small group slots in the final show. The workshops will also unite the group, develop strong common goals and build teamwork.
Nottingham
City Council’s Gifted and Talented team in Children’s Services are working with the organisation Pro-Excel.
