The exciting and tiny world of nano technology
comes under the microscope
at a series of events in Nottingham, under the auspices of our Science City status.
On
May 16th, 17th and 18th, in the Old Market Square there will be a nanotechnology exhibition where you
can find out how nanotechnology can revolutionise our everyday lives – and even how geckos stick to
the ceiling by their adhesive, 'nano' feet. Find out who the nano man is, watch nano films, play the
nano mission computer game and catch that molecule. Admission is free and it’s open to all.
The
City Council is also hosting around 100 business and education international delegates at a Nano Expo
at the East Midlands Conference Centre on May 16th, as part of the i-festival which has seen over 130
events taking place around the East Midlands.
Following the reception there
is a free public lecture at Trent University where Dr Alan Smith will demonstrate why nanotechnology
can impact on and touch our everyday lives.
