Meet the buyer in Nottingham

Picture of special schoolNottingham City Council is calling on local businesses to work on a £140 million project to transform secondary schools in Nottingham.

The City Council is transforming Nottingham’s neighbourhoods through the Building Schools for the Future (BSF) programme which aims to provide children with educational facilities fit for the 21st century.

Invites for the event on Tuesday, 25 November at the National Ice Centre on Bolero Square have been sent to over 700 businesses in the construction and ICT sectors.

Inspiredspaces (a consortium of Carillion and its ICT partner Ramesys) has been selected as the City Council’s private sector partner to rebuild and renew school buildings and provide an ICT managed service for eight secondary schools and three Academies. This creates substantial opportunities for local businesses to develop, to supply goods and services and to leave a legacy in the local community through a commitment to local training and employment.

At the event, businesses can meet with Inspiredspaces to find out more about the BSF programme and how the business can be part of this exciting opportunity.

Cllr Graham Chapman, Deputy Leader at Nottingham City Council, said: “This is a unique opportunity for local businesses to get involved in one of Nottingham’s most exciting projects and to make a real difference to local communities. It is also a very important chance for local businesses to get some work in this increasing difficult financial climate.”
