Volunteer for us

We are always on the look out for new volunteers to help us deliver our Family Learning Programme, to help run events and activities and to support us through Friends of the Museum.

Volunteer for us

Nottingham City Museums and Galleries are always on the look out for people who can spare some time to join our friendly team of volunteers.

Volunteers are a valuable part of the museum service and enable us to enhance the great visitor experience we can offer, whether they carry out work with the public or behind the scenes.

Whatever your interests or skills, we would love to hear from you.

Volunteering with us can help you:

  • Meet new people and make new friends
  • Increase your confidence and gain new skills
  • Gain valuable work experience within a museum
  • Have a fun and enjoyable experience!

Volunteer opportunities are available across our museum sites which include Nottingham Castle, Brewhouse Yard, Wollaton Hall, Nottingham Industrial Museum, Green's Windmill and Newstead Abbey.

Volunteer roles range from helping with fun family learning activities to supporting our local industrial heritage or working with our fascinating collections.

If your interested in volunteering with Nottingham City Museums and Galleries please email volunteer.programme@nottinghamcity.gov.uk  or call 0115 876 2205 for more information about our next volunteer open day.
