Splendour is back with Pet Shop Boys headlining the main stage
Splendour Festival at Wollaton Park returns for a third year on Saturday 24th July 2010 with Pet Shop Boys headlining this year's festival.
Last year, Splendour made its mark as on the festival circuit with a sell out, thanks to an impressive line up that included headliners Madness, The Pogues, Fun Lovin' Criminals as well as new and emerging artists on two other music stages.
With a capacity of beyond 12,000, the festival will again become the city's major summer music event, and more acts for this year's events will be announced shortly.
Pet Shop Boys come to Nottingham on the back of nearly 30 years at the top as one of the UK's most successful bands. With 42 Top 30 singles and 22 Top 10 hits in the UK, including four Number Ones, they received the BRIT Award for Outstanding Contribution to Music in 2009.
On 15th February, they released a highly acclaimed live album and DVD "Pandemonium" documenting the definitive live Pet Shop Boys experience in December 09 at London's O2 arena. Now Nottingham will get to experience it first hand!

Councillor David Trimble, Nottingham City Council's Portfolio Holder for Leisure, Culture and Customers said: ''It's fantastic that we're able to bring back Splendour for a third year, it just goes to show Nottingham's status on the festival circuit and as a place that really can put on a good show. We are a City that has proved time and time again that we can present world class entertainment, whilst still making sure that our local people can enjoy this world class entertainment for less. It's a unique offer and we're proud to be able to make it available to the people who live in our City.''
