Petition Figure
Every year in February, Nottingham City Council has a duty under the Local Government Act 2000, to publish the minimum number of signatures required to support a valid petition to request a referendum on whether or not the City should have an Elected Mayor.
The minimum number of signatures (equivalent to 5% of the authorities local government electorate) is 10426.
The above number will apply to any petition submitted to Nottingham City Council from now until the new figure is published in February 2014.
