Chinese medicine first for Nottingham
Some of the world's foremost experts on Chinese medicine met at the University of Nottingham.
The 8th Meeting for the Consortium for Globalisation of Chinese Medicine (CGCM) has been held in Nottingham - for the first time outside Asia. The University of Nottingham was chosen to host the event in recognition of its commitment to research in Chinese medicine. The UK is considered one of the most progressive governments in Europe in its support of the field.
The event, which took place at the East Midlands Conference Centre on University Park from 25-28 August 2009, provides a global showcase for research and development in the field of Chinese medicine. It also encourages international co-operation between academia, governments and industry.
A gala dinner, hosted by the Lord Mayor of Nottingham, Councillor Jeannie Packer, was held at the City of Nottingham's Council House.
