Emily Portman Trio

The Glamoury album (2010) earned Emily Portman widespread critical acclaim, international airplay, Mojo and fRoots top ten Folk albums of the year, not to mention a packed schedule of UK tours and festivals. Emily has become well known for her lyrical and beautiful voice and bewitching live performances. Her second album Hatchling features one of Scotland’s finest, Alasdair Roberts. Hatchling is an off-kilter collection of contemporary lullabies, apple-tree wassails, and folk carols, entering a carnival-esque world of fallen angels, and fantastical metamorphosis, set against a backdrop of England’s country lanes and urban backstreets. One of the new British folk scene’s most beguiling artists.
