Few people in Nottingham will forget the tragic events of a few years ago when 14 year old Danielle Beccan was tragically killed, as the innocent bystander of a "drive by" shooting which marked the worst times of Nottingham's recent history. Luckily today the incidence of gun crime is much reduced in the City and the twin initiatives of "Nottingham Stands Together" and the Trust have done much to provide a more positive environment for young people.

The Trust has raised over £130,000 towards a Dance Studio and dance activity, Danielle's favourite past time, over recent years and now wants to complete its fundraising in spectacular style. So the cycling "team" has agreed to attempt to cycle from Paris to Nottingham in just 5 days.

The team's made up of Councillor Jon Collins, leader of the City Council, ex Councillor and previous Leader of the Council, John Taylor, Jill Wilkinson from Education Charity Keys to Success, and a support team from Nottingham City Homes. They will leave Paris on Tuesday 14 April hoping to arrive at the Forest home game against Coventry on Saturday the 18th April 2009.

In July 2007, Jon and John were part of a group which managed to raise over £25,000 through completing the "3 Peaks" challenge in under 24 hours. They hope to raise £10,000 this time. The event has already gathered the support of a number of high profile individuals and organisations in the City.

Below are details of how sponsorship and gifts can be made in the hope that you will feel able to help them finish the Trust's magnificent efforts and in so doing establish a lasting memorial to Danielle which will be an inspiration to Nottingham's young people.
