The World Design Capital judging panel identified great potential in our application based on our longstanding contributions and commitments to design and stated that they hoped we continue to nurture the vision that will enable design to become a central component of city development.

We would like to take this opportunity to thank you all for your support.

What is the World Design Capital title?

The World Design Capital is a city promotion project celebrating the merits of design. Held every other year, it seeks to highlight the accomplishments of cities that are truly leveraging design as a tool to improve the social, cultural and economic life of cities, throughout a yearlong programme of design-related events.
