What is the Strategy?

In July 2008, we launched our first Adult Social Care Workforce Strategy 2008/10 'New ways of working shaped by users needs and choices'. The strategy has been written to help the Nottinghamshire Adult Social Care Sector understand the present workforce and demographical climate in our locality. The strategy objectives seek to support organisations in improving their workforce during the big changes that are taking place within social care, in particular the move towards Self Directed Support and the combining of social care services with health.

The strategy pays particular attention to the Department of Health document 'Putting People First' and the White Paper 'Our Health, Our Care, Our Say'.

Our Partners

The strategy will aid Adult Social Care Sector organisations in Nottingham and Nottinghamshire to attract and develop workers in order to the provide a high quality of care to the residents of the region. It will support our ambition to have the right people with the right skills in the right place at the right time.

The partnership includes the two local authorities, Nottinghamshire Health Community, the private, voluntary and independent care sector, Skills for Care and has been produced in consultation with our customers and their carers. We are working together to ensure the strategic objectives underpin workforce plans produced across the whole sector.

What support do we offer?

We provide a range of workforce planning support including workshops, training, one to ones and telephone advice, to help organisations complete their workforce plans.
