Park Rangers
The Park Rangers provide a new service working with schools, community groups and "friends" groups to encourage people to enjoy and learn from the city's parks and open spaces.
The Park Rangers offer a programme of environmental activities and workshops for schools and groups to suit different ages and abilities. The programme is linked to the National Curriculum and supports the Responsible Schools programme. Workshops can take place in the classroom, or on site at one of Nottingham City Council's parks and open spaces accessing woodland, ponds, lakes or historic sites. Projects are undertaken to raise awareness about Biodiversity and the importance of preserving and protecting the environment.
The Rangers also run a varied programme of fun FREE events at sites across Nottingham City including health walks, heritage walks, rambles, tours of Woodthorpe Tropical House and visits to Green Flag parks. We can also work with you to support your own events. For more information visit the Events in Parks and Open Spaces page.
