Described in 1926 by the author Mellors as 'the nearest approach to a village green we have', Lenton Recreation Ground has provided several different generations of local children with an attractive and safe location in which to play.
After a period of decline, the park is now enjoying a renaissance and once again fulfilling its function as the neighbourhood's own village green. Its two bowling greens remain well used by three clubs and the children's play area is a firm favourite! A recent addition to the park is the Peace Garden area created by local volunteers.
