Outdoor Learning, Sustainable Development & International Dimension
All Nottingham children and young people are encouraged to look beyond the horizon, to be inspired by what the world has to offer and aspire to making their own contribution.
Find out more about opportunities in schools in the following areas:
- Outdoor Learning
Outdoor learning, which is valued both by Ofsted and the DFE, is a key component of a young person's development, understanding how to manage risks, stay safe and engage with their environment.
- Eco-Schools
Eco Schools has been adopted as the main programme for Nottingham City Schools to set and achieve sustainability targets and help the council to meet its own Carbon Reduction Commitment. Schools are currently responsible for 37% of carbon dioxide emissions from buildings in Nottingham.
- International Dimension in Schools
Nottingham is one of the leading authorities in the UK for encouraging global citizenship in our children and young people.
Contact our Sport, Outdoor Learning and Adventure Team for more information on all of the above.
