Grants and Funding
The Single Gateway team manages a variety of grants and funding schemes available to voluntary and community groups working within Nottingham city.
You do not need to be a registered charity to apply for a grant from us, but you must be a not-for-profit organisation that has charitable aims and objectives. Your project or activity should aim to tackle disadvantage in your local community, whether that be disadvantage around opportunities, environment or finances.
We can support many different types of activity, from projects based around play and young people, to luncheon clubs for the older generation. We can also support activities that develop or provide a service for your local community. Please look at the links on the left hand side of this page for more information.
Funding from Nottingham City Council is split into two programmes:
- Small grants
Funding for a wide range of activities available at different times throughout the year. Each funding scheme has its own priorities and timescales. Use the Small Grants link on the left of this page to find out more. - Three Year Grants
Applications for larger grants are available once every three years. The current grants run from April 2009-March 2012. New applications will be invited in 2011 for activities that start in April 2012. Use the link on the left of this page to see what types of projects and activities have been funded in this round.
News
Whenever we release information about events, reviews or new funding streams, you can find links to the relevant information here.
The Single Gateway Unit is undertaking a review of its small grants programme between December and March to ensure the programme better meets the needs of the voluntary and community sector, and that the application and assessment process is fair, transparent and easily accessible to all voluntary and community groups.
We will be consulting with local voluntary and community groups on our new application process and guidance notes. Priorities for funding will be based on needs identified by each Service through consultation, and from issues identified by the Local Area Agreement (LAA).
