Printed music

You'll find a large collection of sheet music in Nottingham City Libraries, including rock and pop as well as classical material. There are also large numbers of music sets available for hire.

Browsing music in a library

The main collection of scores is held at Nottingham Central Library, Floor 3.
There are also small collections at Aspley, Bulwell, Clifton, Sherwood and Wollaton Libraries.

SCORES AVAILABLE INCLUDE:

  • Classical - a comprehensive range including: chamber, opera, solo song, sacred, piano, organ, strings, brass, wind, percussion
  • Popular - a comprehensive range including: pop and rock songbooks, guitar tablature, musicals, music hall, electronic keyboard, songs for children
  • Learning to play an instrument

There are no loan charges for borrowing scores on your library ticket.

SETS OF MUSIC FOR CHOIRS AND ORCHESTRAS:

  • Vocal scores - over 2000 sets
  • Orchestral sets - over 1000 titles
  • Concert and wind band sets - over 200 titles

Music sets are loaned to music organisations in Nottingham and Nottinghamshire by arrangement with the staff on Floor 3 of the Central Library.

Scores are available by visiting the online on the library catalogue. You may also search for items held by Nottinghamshire County Library.

Charges for library services are made for borrowing sound recordings and for making reservations, unless you are exempt from paying.
