Details are given below of the microfilm holdings of each newspaper, its location, and whether or not it has been indexed (and if so, for which dates). Titles (and title changes) have in some cases been simplified.

Facilities for photocopying from microfilm exist at Nottingham Central Library, Arnold, Beeston, Hucknall, Kirkby, Mansfield, Newark, Stapleford, Sutton, and Worksop.

If you are making a special journey to look at newspapers, it is advisable to contact the library in advance to book a microfilm reader, and to check availability of the film.

In addition to the list of newspapers below, the Nottinghamshire Guardian (1849-1900) is available in electronic format via the 19th Century British Library Newspapers website. This can be viewed for free by library members either at a local library or you may access it remotely from any computer (A current library membership card is required).
