Dog fouling

Persons in control of a dog must, by law, pick up any mess made by their dogs.

Nice looking labrador crossDog wardens, Community Protection Officers and some other council staff have the power to issue £50 fixed penalty notices on the spot or through the post. If someone continues to fail to clear up after their dog or doesn't pay the fixed penalty then we will prosecute them. The person in control of the dog can be fined up to £1000 if found guilty in court.

This means that if someone is walking someone else's dog they must clear up after it.

Always take an adequate supply of poop scoop bags whenever you go out with a dog and use them!
