Housing Provision and Climate Change
This page details the latest consultations in relation to the Housing Provision and Climate Change areas of the Aligned Core Strategy
The Councils consulted on proposals for housing growth between February and April 2010. In the light of the Government's intention to abolish Regional Strategies, the Councils decided to review the evidence underlying housing provision figures and in particular the Government's latest Household Projections which are a key element of the evidence base.
This review has now concluded and the councils of Broxtowe, Erewash, Gedling and Nottingham City have decided that the housing figures set out in the 'Option for Consultation' continue to be the appropriate ones to plan for. Their conclusions and proposed way forward is set out in a Housing Provision Position Paper.
The councils have also refined their draft policy on Climate Change, due to the high level of interest the draft policy attracted in the 'Option for Consultation'.
The councils of Broxtowe, Erewash, Gedling and Nottingham City are inviting comments on both the Housing Provision Position Paper and draft Climate Change Policy. Consultation will run from 25th July to 19th September 2011.
