Celebrate the Olympic Torch
A whole evening of entertainment is being planned to welcome the Torch to the city on Thursday 28 June.

Torch Relay Evening Celebration
Old Market Square, 5.15pm - 7.30pm
See the Olympic Torch light up the city and enjoy live music, dance and spectacular performances. The two hour show is a collaboration of local and national talent. Don't miss Nottingham's moment to shine and the start of a tremendous Olympic summer - all for FREE!
Enjoy a variety of entertainment staged by LOCOG and the three Presenting Partners of the London 2012 Olympic Torch Relay (Coca-Cola, Lloyds TSB and Samsung), including:
- Up and coming musician, Loick Essien has just been confirmed as Coca Cola's live act for Nottingham
- Lloyds TSB and Samsung will each present 20 minutes of visually stunning acrobatic and dance performances.
- Olympic related activities before and during the show including your chance to be photographed with the London 2012 Torch!
Local talent will shine during two special music, theatre and dance performances entitled 'Heroes of Nottingham' celebrating the achievements of some of the city's iconic sporting and cultural heroes. The piece entitled 'Heroes of Nottingham' has been choreographed by Dance4 and Lakeside Arts Centre. Click here to meet the Nottingham's Got Talent cast.
Torvill and Dean will carry the torch into the Old Market Square towards the end of the show to light a celebration cauldron on stage.
Follow the Light Procession
City Centre, 7.30pm - 8.15pm
A spectacular on-street procession featuring around 100 local people dressed in carnival costumes to welcome the spirit of the Olympic Games into the city.
BBC Radio Nottingham's Big Night Out 
7.30 - 'til late, various city centre locations
Nottingham City Council has teamed up with BBC Radio Nottingham and We Are Nottingham to host an evening of entertainment, attractions and special offers from 7.30pm until late at key landmarks as well as bars and restaurants across the city. There will be lots of FREE and great value things to do and see as well as some fantastic offers, so bring your family and friends along for a night to remember!
