The Nottingham Declaration on Climate Change

Nottingham was the first city to recognise that climate change can have a real impact on the way services are planned for and delivered.

Celebrating 10 years of the Nottingham Declaration on Climate Change

In 2000, Nottingham developed a set of guiding principles that set out what should be done to make the city future proof - the Nottingham Declaration on Climate Change - and set about encouraging all other towns and cities to sign up. Virtually every council in the UK is now a signatory.

In 2011 an event was held in Nottingham to celebrate the 10 years of local government t climate change and now Nottingham is still pushing the agenda by working with the government to develop a new 'Nottingham Declaration 2010+.'
