Local Studies Research and Enquiry Service
Nottingham City Council Library and Information Service are introducing competitively priced charges for research and detailed enquiries done on behalf of our customers.
We are bringing our charges in line with many other authorities who charge for their research and enquiry service.
The service will continue to be free for visitors to the Library and for independent use.
We will accept a maximum of 3 hours research per order. The fee includes all the work involved in planning and carrying out the research. If you require more extensive research please contact Local Studies Library to discuss your needs.
Searches can be carried out on local, house, place and family history for a fee. The research is undertaken by an experienced and trained member of staff and offers a professional and reliable service. For details of our resources download our

Our new research and enquiry service charges are:

First half hour regardless of origin of enquiry | FREE |
| Work done beyond a half hour | £10.00 per half hour plus charge for copies and administration |
| Items copied to disc | £1.00 charge for disc plus administration |

| Research per half hour | £20 per half hour plus charge for copies and administration |
Document copying | Cost |
| Black and white A4/A3 | 50p/£1.00 |
| Colour A4/A3 | £1.00/£2.00 |
| Microfiche/film print copying A4/A3 | 75p/£1.50 |
| Administrative charge when dispatched to customer | £2.50 plus postage as appropriate |
