Find my bin collection date

You can now find out your bin collection dates for the year ahead, including Christmas and Bank Holidays by using our new online postcode finder tool. All you need to do is type in your postcode below and click 'Check my bin day' below.

During Easter, bins will be collected as normal on Good Friday and bins scheduled for collection on April 1 (Easter Monday) will be collected on Saturday March 30. There is no garden waste collection due on April 1 - the service resumes on April 2. There will not be any bulky waste collections on Saturday March 30 but those booked in for March 29 (Good Friday) will be collected as planned.

Find a recycling centre or tip

There is a network of local recycling sites across the city. You can take different items of household waste to be recycled at each of these sites.  Click here for a list of recycling centres.

Compost bins

It is really easy to compost at home. Not only does it reduce the waste going into your bin, it also provides free nourishment for your garden to boost your vegetables and flower beds.  The Council is working with a local partner to provide cheap composters.
