Direct Debit

By far the best way to pay Council Tax is by Direct Debit and now you don't even need to complete any forms to do so. Just call (0115) 915 4851 and have your bank details ready. If you prefer, you can print a mandate which can be returned in the post. Once we have received your instruction, we will make arrangements with your bank and send you a revised bill. The first monthly instalment under the Direct Debit plan will always be at least 10 working days after we send you the bill.

Online payments

Accounts can be paid online via the Nottingham City Council 24-hour secure Internet payments service. You may make a variety of payments using this secure site with most major credit or debit cards. Click here to pay your Council Tax on-line.

Post Office Payments

If a Bar Code is printed on your bill, payment may be made at any Post Office in cash, by cheque or with a Debit Card. There is no charge for this service.

PayPoint 

If a Bar Code is printed on your bill, payment may be made in cash at any outlet displaying the PayPoint logo. There is no charge for this service. Details of your local outlet can be found at the PayPoint website.

In Person

You may pay your Council Tax in person at any Housing Office. 

Telephone Payments

To make payment over the phone by debit or credit card call our automated freephone service on 0800 0520173 any time.

Paying over 12 months

Unless paying by Direct Debit the default method of payment for Council Tax is over a maximum of 10 months during the Council Tax year April to March. You can choose to pay over a maximum of 12 months during the year to help spread your payments. To do this please call us on 0115-9154851 or email us at counciltax@nottinghamcity.gov.uk stating in the heading 'request for maximum instalments'.
