The Strategic Partnership for Children, Young People and Families (SPCYPF) co-ordinates the planning of children's and family services across Nottingham City.

Purpose

The purpose and responsibilities of the SPCYPF include:

  • to coordinate the overall strategic development for integrating services for children young people and their families
  • to secure the most efficient use of resources
  • to develop good practice in partnership working to provide a basis for effective coordination and integration of services to children, young people and their families
  • to co-ordinate service planning for vulnerable children and young people

Membership

Members include: representatives from the Voluntary and Community Sector, Nottingham City Council, Nottingham City PCT, Police, Probation, Connexions and the Drug Action Team.

Governance Structure

Background

The Strategic Partnership for Children, Young People and Families was established in April 1998 (when Nottingham City Council became a Unitary Authority). It became a statutory partnership in 2001 with specific responsibility for the Children’s Fund.

The Partnership is a ‘themed’ partnership of the One City Partnership Nottingham (OCPN) and has an important role in the implementation of the Children Act (2004).
