Our new Children and Young People’s Plan 2008 - 2011

A second draft of our new Children and Young Peoples Plan has now been completed by the Strategic Partnership for Children, Young People and Families. It will drive our efforts to improve outcomes for our children, young people and families from 2008 until 2011. You are invited to consider this second draft, and to feed back your comments and suggestions to cypp@nottinghamcity.co.uk Our aim is to present the final plan to the Board of the Strategic Partnership for Children, Young People and Families for approval on 20th March.

The new draft CYPP is in 2 parts. Part 1 is the Strategic Plan. It highlights key drivers and issues, and presents a revised set of priorities.

CYPP Strategic Plan Second Draft

Part 2 is the Delivery Plan. This includes detailed action plans that will be delivered in order to improve outcomes across the ECM framework. In addition, there are three priority group plans which pull together proposals to improve outcomes for particularly vulnerable groups. These are:

• children and young people in care of the local authority
• children and young people with learning, emotional or behavioural difficulties and those with disabilities
• black and minority ethnic groups vulnerable to poor outcomes

Our proposal is that Part 2 will become web content within this website, rather than being produced as a single document. This website will then be used to track delivery progress and to continue to build and update our evidence base.

• A number of additional versions will be produced for different audiences:
• A very concise summary will be produced for general public consumption
• A slightly longer summary will be produced for the wide integrated children’s services workforce
• Children and Young People will be engaged in producing a version of the plan for children and young people themselves
