The Common Assessment Framework (CAF) provides a universal assessment tool for all agencies to use to identify additional needs in children and young people. It aims to bring together practitioners from all agencies working with children, young people and their families to share information, undertake appropriate assessments and provide multi agency support. Nottingham CAF The CAF must be implemented across integrated children’s services nationally by 31st December 2008. Within Nottingham, we are currently rolling out a multi agency training programme across the city, with implementation from 1st April 2008 New CAF Training dates for 2008 are now available - please click on the Training Tab for more information. The North, South and Central Launch events for the CAF held in March 2008 were a great success in terms of attendance, evaluation and planning future priorities. This is a guide to the CAF Process for frontline practitioners and managers, containing essential information on referral routes to social care, the MALT and children's centres as well as supportive information on undertaking CAF's and the role of lead professional.
