As you may already be aware GCSX email system is being phased out by central government as a way of delivering secure email.
There is no direct replacement service proposed, instead organisation are being asked to meet the government’s secure email standards. Nottingham City Council meets this standard are accredited to send and receive sensitive and confidential information from other secure organisations, without the need for GCSX email addresses.
In practice this means that we have stopped using our GCSX email service and you will now receive all emails from our @nottinghamcity.gov.uk domain.
When sending sensitive to other organisations who are also accredited, all emails will be sent and received securely by default between those domains. If your organisation is not yet accredited or has not yet been added to our trusted list, the email will be encrypted and you will be required to login to our portal to retrieve the encrypted email.
