Below are the education sessions that we offer to schools at Green's Mill. They are available on Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays and run from 10.00am - 12.00 or from 1.00 - 3.00pm Each session is for one class and costs £65.

Little Red Hen
Nursery and Reception
Little Red Hen is busy harvesting and baking and needs a helping hand. This is an action-packed session that makes a splendid out-of-school learning experience. Investigate cogs, grain and flour, weighing and measuring and then explore the windmill. Make some bread, listen to a story and meet the characters in it.

Baker's Dozen
Key Stage 1
In this busy session investigate bread and its ingredients. Tour the (hopefully) working windmill and find out about grain and how it is turned into flour. Make some bread and look at the changes that take place as the flour is turned to dough that then rises and is baked to make some delicious bread

Fun with Forces
Key stages 1 & 2
How do pushes and pulls affect movement? What are balanced and unbalanced forces? Investigate a variety of forces using the windmill as a large-scale example and toys as smaller, more familiar ones. Try out some simple toys, old and new, and then make your own to illustrate how basic forces work.

It is Rocket Science
Key stages 1 & 2
Wind powers the machinery inside Green's Mill and on the guided tour you can see brilliant examples of forces at work. Find out how planes and rockets use or overcome different forces to fly. Take part in a guided investigation, make a flying machine and join in the great rocket challenge.
