Nottingham City Council are declaring a Clearance Area at Cavendish Court, Woodborough Road
This three storey block of 15 flats has serious structural problems as well as other disrepair issues. The City Council has a legal duty to act where there are problems which cause category 1 hazards under the Housing Act 2004.
A number of different options have been considered to deal with the complex including prohibiting the use of the premises and leaving it derelict and requiring the owners to carry out repairs.
Having weighed up the various issues, including financial and socio-environmental factors, the Clearance option was the most appropriate course of action.
On September 16th 2014 the Council's Executive Board, after considering the representations received, confirmed that the Council were declaring a Clearance Order.
On 6th October a notice under Section 8 of the Housing Act was served.
