Action Plan
Our
campaign will continually identify key issues, develop publicity campaigns
and instigate action by board members to take these forward.
European
and National bodies aware of the East Midlands needs
A
strategic framework for sport and recreation in the East Midlands will
be developed and promoted
Policy
statements on issues important to sport in the East Midlands will be published
Responses
will be made to consultation documents which affect sport in the East
Midlands
East
Midlands Sport represents the East Midlands at the English Sports Forum
At
the heart of regional decision making
East
Midlands Sport Members have a personal commitment to take sporting issues
forward in wide forums and organisations
The
Board has close relationships with the East Midlands Development Agency,
the East Midlands Regional Assembly and is active on the East Midlands
Cultural Consortium
Sport
for its own sake
We
shall work with the East Midlands Cultural Consortium to ensure that the
intrinsic value of sport as a cultural force is fully recognised in the
East Midlands
Preserving
and developing sport for all in the East Midlands
East
Midlands Sport is committed to a programme of consultation with local
authorities, sports organisations, clubs and others involved in sport
in the East Midlands to agree key campaign issues for the region
We
will campaign for rate relief for voluntary sports clubs
A
sport and racial equality action group will be established
We
will campaign to promote and protect sport for young people in schools
We
will campaign to protect and develop playing fields
We
will contribute to improved sports information and communication in the
region
Sports
role in major social policy agendas
Positive
steps will be taken to actively involve under-represented groups in East
Midlands Sport, ensuring that they contribute to campaign issues
East
Midlands Sport will develop a bank of expert advisers to identify how
sport and recreation can contribute to social policy agendas, and how
best to promote this
We
will work with professional clubs in the region to use their influence
and identify the benefits of joint working on projects which meet social
agendas
A
sport and health action group will be established
The
role of sport and recreation in contributing to health, community safety,
neighbourhood renewal, and lifelong learning projects will be actively
promoted
