Len Jackson - Chair
Local businessman, currently a sales and marketing consultant. Previously Managing Director of Pork Farms in Nottingham and Bowyers in Wiltshire. Passionate about sport and still plays football, cricket and table tennis. Brings many years of experience in the business world and of working with public sector bodies such as the East Midlands Development Agency, where he was a Director for 3 years. Has Chaired a number of social inclusion initiatives in the East Midlands, including New Deal and Common Purpose. Awarded the OBE in 2002.



Nicholas Bunting
Head of Game Investment, RFU; former Sales and Marketing Director; National Referee Development Officer for RFU (1997 - 1999), Head of Officiating and Resources for RFU (1999-2001); Board member of Sports Coach UK, member of a Rugby Club; member of Referee Society, Trustee of the Rugby Football Foundation and a District Councillor.



Mary Butler
Regional Chair of English Federation of Disability Sport; Director of Disability Sport England. Member of RSB Executive- 2000 -2003; Founder member of Regional Awards for All Committee; Senior Manager with Lloyds TSB Bank; Team management at major National/International UK sporting events.



Ted Cassidy
Chair of Culture East Midlands; Head of Regional Partnerships at De Montfort University; member of RSB- 2000-2003; member of Regional Assembly Steering Group; former Deputy Chairman of East Midlands Development Agency; long standing supporter of Leicester City Football Club.



Karen Chouhan
Director, 1990 Trust - a national Black led non-government organisation influencing race policies in Britain and working directly on empowerment strategies with Black communities; former Senior Lecturer at De Montfort University; Chair of Belgrave Baheno Peepul Centre in Leicester - providing the largest regeneration programme lead by Asian women in the country, with sport development being a critical element of the Centre.



Lindsey Davies
Regional Director of Public Health. Lifelong interest in sport - will strengthen the link between NHS and sport and improve the health of the region by contributing to general development of sporting activity.



Wendi Jarrett
Charity Project Manager. Worked on a number of community and social strategic projects in the voluntary sector for 24 years. Participates in local partnership and funding bodies.



Jeff Moore
Deputy Chief Executive of East Midlands Development Agency with specific responsibility for finance, human resources, IT, business investment and international development. Appointed Director of Finance for emda in July 1999 and became responsible for Inward Investment and Tourism a few months later. Held a variety of financial roles in local government and became Director of Finance for Broxtowe Borough Council in 1989. Plays many sports particularly football, cricket and golf. Lifelong supporter of Notts County FC and Nottinghamshire County Cricket Club. Board member of Visit Heart of English Tourist Board, Chair of the Investment Advisory Committee of the East Midlands Regional Venture Capital Fund and sits on the Investment Advisory Committee for the Lachesis Fund (Universities Challenge Fund) and on the Board of Connect Midlands.



Patrick Nelson
Director of Corporate Communications at Capital One Bank (Europe) plc; managed operations for Capital One from 1996 to 1998; key media spokesperson for the company in the UK; previously worked for East Midlands Electricity and American Express; a graduate in business studies from Nottingham Trent University. He is a keen skier, cyclist and amateur footballer, playing in the mid Sussex League. He is a keen supporter of Derby County FC.



Dr Mary Nevill
Senior Lecturer, Loughborough University, Director of Institute of Youth Sport. Former International hockey player, including captain. Chair of International Teams Committee, English Hockey Association 1997-2000. UK Sports council member 1997-2000. Hockey coach.



Jackie Strong
Director of Education, Leicestershire County Council; represented university at athletics and netball; as a teacher, coached and umpired netball; supports county sport through education strategy.



Mike Turner
Consultant, England and Wales Cricket Board; member of Test and County Cricket Board for 25 years; Chair of Leicestershire Sports Forum (5 years), President of Leicestershire Schools Cricket Association since 1975, President of Leicestershire and Rutland Playing Fields Association, Honorary Life Member MCC, appointed MBE for services to cricket 1994.
