Basic Safeguarding Children for New Practitioners

Course summary:

This course is specifically for new Early Years Practitioners with NO responsibility for managing staff or making referrals.  If you have attended a Safeguarding Children course within the past three years you should book onto the Refresher Training.

 By the end of the course participants will:

  • Have an understanding of the EYFS Safeguarding and Welfare Requirements
  • Have an understanding of child protection law and legislation
  • Define child abuse and recognise potential indicators
  • Be aware of how referrals are made to other agencies
  • Have an awareness of how to keep yourself safe when working with children and young people

 Pre-course information: Delegates are required to familiarise themselves with Safeguarding and Promoting Children’s Welfare requirements within the EYFS
