Providers must be confident that those responsible for preparing and handling food are competent to do so. In group provision, all staff involved in the preparing and handling food must receive training in food hygiene.’  Early Years Statutory Framework  On completion of this course you will receive a certificate detailing the course content.

The training provider is registered to deliver the Chartered Institute of Environmental Health (CIEH) approved Food Safety course. However the session above is not CIEH accredited. 

 This one day course will cover the following topics: 

  • Legislation
  • Food safety hazards
  • Temperature control
  • Refrigeration, chilling and cold holding
  • Cooking, hot holding and reheating
  • Food handling
  • Principles of safe food storage
  • Cleaning
  • Food premises and equipment

 Course Leaders: Commissioned Provider 

Audience: This course is appropriate for those members of staff who prepare snacks. If you wish to send your Cook or any other member of staff with overall responsibility for the cooking, preparation and storage of foodstuffs on a Food Safety course they may require a CIEH accredited delivery.  These can be accessed at a local college or online.
