RHS Campaign for School Gardening
The RHS Campaign for School Gardening aims to encourage and support schools to develop and actively use a school garden. The Campaign provides teachers with a host of online resources including lesson plans and gardening advice and ways to link outdoor learning to the curriculum. The Campaign also offers an extensive programme of training courses across the UK which give teachers the practical skills they need to lead gardening activities in their school or community, as well as the confidence they need to create all year round learning experiences that have a real impact on children's achievement, health and well-being.
Your school can register to the Campaign free and receive a free starter pack including seeds, plant labels, posters and more to get you going. Your school can then begin to work through the School Gardening Awards; whether your school is just starting out and wondering where to begin, or looking to develop an established garden, the School Gardening Awards will point you in the right direction. As you achieve each level in the scheme, you will get a certificate and a fantastic prize.
