Hints and Tips on Eating Healthily
1. Consider your cooking method e.g. can you grill, steam, bake rather than fry?
2. Look at your portion sizes e.g. can they be reduced or have more of a particular food group like vegetables?
3. Can you use lower fat ingredients? For example red meat is a good source of protein and other essential nutrients such as iron and B vitamins but is relatively high in fat. You could think about the cooking method (draining off excess fat), portion size or buying lower fat versions such as lean mince.
4. You don't have to rule out all the things you enjoy. In fact, cutting out the things you love often means you don't keep up the changes you make for very long - so any good work you do is easily undone later on.
5. One of the best ways to be healthy is to make some swaps and build them into your life for the long term. Click HERE for some tasty low fat recipes you can try at home.
